QUEENSLAND 150 YEAR BIRTHDAY QUILT

On the August Craft day we were inspired by Pam Strange to put together a quilt comemorating Queensland's 150th birthday. This quilt is to be entered into a competition which will be judged by response from the members at the QCWA Conference held at Brisbane City Hall in the last week of October.

Members went home and enthusiastically put their thinking caps on to come up with "icons" to be placed on a background map of Queensland - the brainwave idea of Sandi Grove.

Gradually the icons were placed on the background.

Then Sandi took it home to get down to the business of attaching them and embellishing the quilt.
