SEPTEMBER CRAFT DAY

This month's project is a complicated one.
For some of us it will be relatively easy
but for others it will be the first time we have attempted anything with triangles
-- and there are LOTS of triangles !!

So .... we arrived with all the cutting done

and set out under the watchful gaze of our experts....

Trish, Val and Liz ......

to begin putting it all together.

Lots more sewing, cutting, mearuring ....

a little unpicking for some of us...

a little recutting for some of us....

a little throwing in the bin and making another one for some of us !

But,

we're getting the idea now
and we'll continue working on this one next month !

In the meantime the Knitwits knitted...

and crocheted

while Shirley worked on her tablerunner for the competition at Conference.

Show and Tell produced another pile of beanies

and these lovely rugs.

Two finished items from Ione's project were ready for display

and this lovely quilt too

Come and join us on the 13th October for our next Craft Day

AUGUST CRAFT DAY

Wow! Have we been having fun with Ione's project!

We've been beavering away at our convergance quilt for two whole sessions now and very few of us are finished yet.
In fact Kathy brought her finished wall hanging along to skite that she was finished.

Isn't it great!
The rest of us are still working away.

Sometimes it 's all in the way you hold your tongue !

This month Ione rewarded our efforts with chocolate cake for morning tea - to keep our energy levels up !!

and we all know what a great cook she is !

By the end of the day this one was close to being finished.

We are expecting a GREAT Show and Tell of all the finished work in September !

Meanwhile the knitters were knitting ( and nattering !! )

Their pile of beanies is growing fast.

Finally, Christine had this lovely star to show us.

A fantastic day with lots of fun and laughter and a new member too.

Next month we begin our tablerunner with Trish and her helpers.
It can be a Christmas one if you choose.
Please contact Helen if you need a list of material requirements and cutting out directions.

See you then. (8th September)

SOME DELIVERIES

Today Kathy and I set out to make some deliveries .

We were delivering some of the items made by our wonderful members.

We had so much stuff we nearly needed a van like the one above.

First we stopped in at Youngcare at Sinnamon Village where we delivered  24  clothing protectors.

The workers there were overjoyed to be able to throw out their old faded ones now that they have such new pretty ones from us.

We have now delivered  36  clothing protectors to them since April.

Next we set off to Inala where we dropped off  31  Love and Care quilts to the home of Anne George.
We also gave her 6 wheelchair type bags which she eagerly accepted.

Anne's home is stacked to the rafters with all manner of donated items and once again our contributions were received very gratefully.
