FEBRUARY HANDCRAFT DAY

It's lovely to be back into the swing of things again.
The Piecemakers' group started the year off with a working bee for victims of domestic violence

The ladies were quickly into gear sewing ,

ironing,

and filling these bags

under the leadership of Sue.

It wasn't long before the pile of filled bags was mounting up
and we now have a store of bags for next time.

Many thanks for all your help ladies, it is a very worthy cause.

Meanwhile the Knitwits were getting on with their projects.

As you can see they have made a good start to the year with these beauties.

There were a couple of delightful handmade toys on show as well.

a cute rabbit under construction ....

and a jaunty Teddy too.

On the quilting side there was this finished  masterpiece from Trish...

and this almost finished  beauty from Lesley

The remainder of the day was spent planning our program for the rest of the year.
I hope to get it out to you soon.

Next month's Handcraft Day will be on Thursday, 8th March.

Come along and join in.
Quilters will be participating in a quilt-as-you-go project/workshop to produce a group quilt for Love and Care.
More information on this to follow.

WELCOME BACK - 2012

There was a fantastic turnout for our first Social Day of 2012.
By the sounds of things there was a lot of catching up to be done!!!

As you can see from these photos members quickly got back into the groove

enjoying their games while chatting and laughing with old friends they were happy to see.

or knitting and crocheting  while they caught up too.

or just plain chatting !!!!

Lovely friendship and fellowship for all.

It was our 9th Birthday and we celebrated

with our usual fantastic morning tea

and  cake  !!!

We finished up the day with a group photo to commemorate the occasion.

CHRISTMAS BREAK-UP (sorry it's late !!)

Members were all smiles as they gathered for our Christmas Break-up at the Bellbowrie Sports and Rec Club.

The Queen of Raffles was there at the door selling raffle tickets in her last time as organizer of raffles for the branch.

It wasn't long before the prizes were being drawn...

There were lots of them !

and they were gratefully received.

Many thanks for all your work organising raffles over the years Grace.
You're done a terrific job and raised much needed money for all sorts of projects.

Shirley is stepping into Grace's shoes.
She is already hard at work gathering some fabulous prises for this year's raffles.

It was great to have Jane Prentice join us with a Christmas message.
Thanks for making time for us Jane, we appreciate it.

The food was great.....

the entertainment terrific.

The music had many toes tapping.

A great day was had by all.
