SEPTEMBER CRAFT DAY

We began our Craft Day this month with a selection of projects to choose from for our Christmas projects this year.  YES IT IS GETTING CLOSER !!!

There were quite a few brilliant projects to choose from.

A Christmas tree wall hanging made from "yo-yos"

.... a lovely table runner / wall hanginging featuring patchworked Christmas trees

and a delightful  appliqued Christmas banner

There were three projects featuring hexagons.

This one featured tiny hexies.

We finally chose the patchwork table runner, the hexagon Christmas tree and the Christmas banner for our projects.
If you would like to join us next Craft Day there will be willing helpers to show you how to make these lovely Christmas projects.

Contact Helen for a list of requirements.

And finally, two lovely quilts with an African theme were presented at Show and Tell.

SEPTEMBER SOCIAL DAY

Added to our usual activities, this month the group's Floral and Cooking Competitions were held.

I think the quality of entries in both fields was very high this year, don't you?

2010 CHARITY CHALLENGE

At the August Craft Day this year the group assembled to make wheelchair bags to be distributed to sufferers of MS.

Several bags were completed on the day and many more were taken home to be finished there.
Keep them coming , ladies!

Our Show and Tell time brought forth the usual gems

from Ellen...

 from Liz....,

some fine crochet from Pam...............

and a couple of Knitwit projects.

A clever group of ladies.

NEW YORK QUILT WORKSHOP

This was the scene I found when I called in after lunch on the first day of the New York quilting Workshop which was the last of the workshiops funded this year by our Council Grant.

Everyone was very busy and working VERY hard!

They had strange bits of paper with lots of arcs, rulers and pencils.

It looked VERY technical.

There wasn't much talking....................

...but everyone seemed happy!

These are some of the pieces that were made on the first day.

Vert complicated!

I hope to be able to share a finished product with you sometime in the future.
